bostonherald.com: In the Hub to honor Sen. Ted Kennedy, U2 front man Bono stopped in the South End yesterday, where he told a packed room of young, star-struck activists that he loves the USA.
"I'm a fan of America. I'm like one of those annoying fans that follows you into the bathroom and screams, `What happened to the last album?' '' the 44-year-old rocker quipped yesterday.
Wearing stylish Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, Bono was met with thunderous applause several times as he spoke about the AIDS crisis in Africa at City Year Boston.

reformer.com: Rocker Bono paid a surprise visit to speak with U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy at the breakfast, causing a sudden surge in media coverage for the otherwise relatively low-key event.
Bono, the lead singer of the Grammy-award winning rock group U2, congratulated Leahy, one of the 22 delegates from the Green Mountain State, for his work to increase access to drugs to battle HIV and AIDS in poor and developing countries.
Most of the world now associates the United States with war, bombs and preemptive strikes, said Bono, when they could be introduced to the country through humanitarian missions, such as delivering badly needed medicines, supplies and food. [ more]

chartattack.com: Is it at all possible that this whole mysteriously stolen U2 CD incident is simply a publicity hoax perpetrated by the artists themselves? Of course, we'd never suggest such a thing, but Bono’s recent statement that the band may release the entire album on iTunes immediately if the songs were to turn up seems to make the whole situation a bit more suspect. Let’s don our replica Sherlock Holmes outfits and investigate this further, shall we? [ more]
