register-mail.com: First Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Prairie St., is holding a special service Saturday that incorporates the music of Irish rock band U2. The music will be performed by the church's Revelation Band, composed of guitarists, a drummer, keyboards and vocalists.

"The idea of the U2 Eucharist is to get the word out about trying to eradicate extreme poverty, AIDS in Africa and other global illnesses," said the Rev. David Parker. [arrow more]

Der Rockstar hofft, daß sich die sieben führenden Industrienationen und Rußland beim G-8-Gipfel in Schottland Anfang Juli auf einen Schuldenerlaß einigen. Er glaubt aber nicht an eine Anhebung der Entwicklungshilfe, weil das zwei Nationen wahrscheinlich blockieren würden: „Die Vereinigten Staaten, weil sie ein enormes Haushaltsloch haben, und Deutschland, das immer noch von der Wiedervereinigung redet.“ [arrow more]
