thestate.com: Congratulations to U2 on its imminent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fair play! The Irish rockers deserve the honor.
I hope it'll keep them out of the recording studio. It's heresy to say it, but U2 hasn't put out a decent album since "Achtung Baby" in 1991.
Sure, the band's latest, "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb," is riding high on the charts. But a more accurate title would be" How to Build a Stink Bomb." [

u2.com: The answer, for young bands today is simple, says Edge, in the second part of the NME interview.
"I'm sure there are a lot of young bands that are just not into us because we're successful and because we've been around for a long time." explains Edge. "I would just say turn that into a positive energy and try and write some great songs. That's the way if you want to take U2 out, the only way you're gonna do it is by writing better songs that us!"
Also in the new edition of the UK's music weekly, the band talk about selling out, about being the most independent rock group in the history of pop music and about why they haven't embarked on solo projects.
"If being in U2 was creatively frustrating", says Adam. "Then maybe people would go off and do other things, but it's fulfilling enough that you don't need to go and have a reggae band for the weekend." [

bloomberg.com: The Irish rock star and activist is turning his attention away from Africa's debt and AIDS woes to Asia's tsunami victims. One of his op-ed pieces called on the world to ``seize the day'' on this ``incomprehensibly tragic'' event.
Bono and his band U2 are expected to perform at a Live Aid- style concert being planning in the U.K. later this month. It's the in thing to do these days; you'd be hard pressed to think of a nation, company or celebrity that isn't scrambling to help the millions affected by the Dec. 26 tsunami. [
