bbc.co.uk: U2 frontman Bono has said he is "ashamed" by the lack of European support for sanctions against Burma.

Speaking at a US congressional hearing, he said Europe should "pay attention" to Burma, where democratic leader Aung San Suu Kyi is under house arrest.

"I think we have a particular evil to deal with that needs a different and stronger response," he said of the country's military regime.
