u2wienoe3.orf.at: Die irische Rockband U2 kommt auf ihrer "Vertigo"-Tour nach Wien. Am 2. Juli gibt die Band um Frontman Bono ein Konzert im Ernst-Happel-Stadion. Der Ticketverkauf startet am 5. Februar.

Insgesamt werden für das Konzert in Wien 55.265 Karten aufgelegt. Der Kartenvorverkauf beginnt am 5. Februar um 9.00 Uhr. Alle Ticketinfos bei [Ö-Ticket], [Rock And More], sowie [Clubticket]

Erfahrungsgemäß könnten in vier Stunden alle 55.000 Tickets weg sein. Wenn man sich auf der offiziellen U2 Homepage im Fanclub registrieren lässt, dann hat man allerdings die Möglichkeit Karten vorzureservieren.

belfasttelegraph.co.uk: Northern Ireland's legions of U2 fans were today given the news they had been waiting for - the date of the rock giants' 2005 Irish gig.

The supergroup from Dublin today announced it will play their home-town gig in Croke Park on June 24 as part of the Vertigo 2005 world tour.

No Ulster date is listed in the band's touring itinerary though thousands of Ulster fans are expected to join the rush to buy tickets for the Dublin gig when they go on sale on February 4. [arrow more]

U2 will begin the first leg of their Vertigo//2005 world tour in San Diego on March, 28th 2005.

Vertigo//2005 will visit 13 cities in North America before arriving in Brussels on June 10th for the first of 24 scheduled European performances, finishing up in Lisbon in the middle of August. [arrow more]

belfasttelegraph.co.uk: Millions of U2 fans across Europe were left on tenterhooks today after the band postponed announcing the dates for the first leg of their tour.

The move came amid unconfirmed reports that guitarist The Edge was keeping a bedside vigil by an ill relative.

Official tour dates were to be announced next Monday, with tickets due to go on sale later this month, but it is thought plans have been put on hold after it was reported that The Edge needs to be with an unnamed family member undergoing intensive medical treatment. [arrow more]

"All of the plans are in total flux," a source close to the band told Rolling Stone, citing a family illness as the reason for the change. signonsandiego.com: Preliminary details are starting to emerge about U2's 2005 world concert tour. An official announcement is due next month, according to the Irish band's manager, Paul McGuinness, who recently told U2.com that ticket sales will begin later in January. He also confirmed that the tour will begin March 1 in the United States (most likely in Florida, according to Pollstar, a weekly concert industry publication. West Coast dates are tentatively scheduled for May, although it remains to be seen if U2 returns here, where the group last performed in 2001 at the San Diego Sports Arena. [arrow more]


undercover.com.au: Dates for U2's 2005 World Tour appear to have been leaked and published.

According to the leaked report, the band will gather in France over the next few days to start rehearsal for the tour which will get underway in Miami on March 1st.

u2.com: U2 will begin a ten month world tour in the US on March 1st, manager Paul McGuinness has told U2.Com.

The band are set to play 115 shows beginning in Florida in the Spring, reaching Europe in June, heading back to North America in the Autumn before finishing up in Japan and Australia in November and December. [arrow more]

Arena hin, Arena her: Die Tournee der Mega-Band U2 wird an Düsseldorf vorbei laufen. Zwar waren Arena-Mana-gement und Konzertveranstalter wie berichtet ausgesprochen interessiert daran, die irischen Weltstars im nächsten Sommer einem vermutlich ausverkauften Haus in Stockum zu präsentieren. Wie die NRZ erfuhr, passen nun jedoch die Terminwünsche nicht übereinander. Etwa zur gleichen Zeit treten die Footballer der Europaliga zum World-Bowl-Finale an.
