An insider says, "It would be a magical end to the Brits. Both acts will be performing on the night so it's just a matter of persuading them to do something together."

Rumors are flying that U2 will play a surprise show in the park tomorrow afternoon.
A Web log about the band, U2log.com, posted that the concert will begin anytime from 1 to 3:30 p.m. A New York City spokesman confirmed that the area around the park is booked for a block party or street activity, though the official said he had no information on who booked the area. [ more]

belfasttelegraph.co.uk: Northern Ireland indie band Snow Patrol could be supporting rock giants U2 on the North American leg of their 2005 world tour.
It is understood negotiations are underway between the two camps to secure a support slot for Snow Patrol when U2 take to the road next year.
In a statement from Snow Patrol, the band members said nothing had been confirmed yet.
But rumours are rife that Bono and co are keen to take the Scottish-based Snow Patrol with them on their US tour. [ more]

undercover.com.au: Word has surfaced that Scissor Sisters have been lined for the support slot for the next U2 tour after U2's Bono was spotted at one of their gigs.
Scissor Sisters played at the PS1 Contemporary Art Center in New York on Saturday. Bono was in the crowd checking out the show. [ more]
