(dpa) Der irische Rocker Bono hat eine Ehrendoktorwürde der Universität von Pennsylvania in Philadelphia erhalten. Der sozial engagierte U2-Sänger war gestern als prominenter Redner zur Begrüßung von Studienanfängern eingeladen worden.
Nach US- Medienberichten wies der 44-Jährige auf Armut, Hungersnöte und die wachsende Aids-Krise in Afrika hin. Die Studenten sollten ihre gute Ausbildung dazu nutzen, ärmeren Menschen zu helfen, sagte Bono.
