onlypunjab.com: The African Well Fund is pleased to have been designated recipient of all net proceeds from @U2’s Swinging to the Music pre-release listening parties which take place this Sunday, November 21st in Seattle, St. Louis and Boston. The parties are set to celebrate the release of U2’s new album How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to listen to the new album, which will be played at all three parties. [ more]

macteens.com: In addition to other announcements made today, Apple has just introduced a special edition U2 iPod, as part of partnership between Apple, U2, and Universal Music Group. The new U2 iPod holds 5,000 songs (20GB) inside of a sleek black enclosure with a red Click Wheel and custom engraving of U2 band members.
"U2 and Apple have a special relationship where they can start to redefine the music business," said Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of UMG’s Interscope Geffen A&M Records."The iPod along with iTunes is the most complete thought that we’ve seen in music in a very long time."

macworld.com: Select members of the press on Monday received an invitation to to a special Apple event taking place at the California Theatre in San Jose, Calif. The theme of the event would appear to be musically-related and is capitalizing on Apple's recently unveiled iPod and iTunes Music Store promotion with legendary rock band U2, judging from the invitation received by MacCentral. "Steve Jobs, Bono and The Edge invite you to attend a special event," reads the top of the invitation. The invitation-only event is scheduled to take place at 10AM Pacific Time on October 26, 2004.
