u2.com: How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb' has gone straight to the top of the US chart, the fifth time U2 have been at No.1 simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic.

And the album is now hugging the top spot in twenty one other countries.

guggi_bonoundercover.com.au: Bono, Adam Clayton and The Edge from U2 were just some of the celebs who turned out at an exhibition for painter Guggi in London this week.

The Irish painter Guggi is an old friend of the members of U2 and this was his first London exhibition.

Bono introduced the artist before various celebs and performers including Gavin Friday, Howie B and Jo Whiley. [arrow more]

u2.com: Edge, Adam and Bono were among the glitterati in London this evening, at the opening night of the first London exhibition by painter and lifelong U2 friend Guggi.

Terence Conran, John Rocha, Charles Saatchi, Cat Deeley, Gavin Friday, Howie B and Jo Whiley were among those thronging the prestigious Osborne Samuel Gallery in central London to see the Dublin painter’s first London show. [arrow more]

Gleiches gilt für Österreich: Hier erreichte das Album ebenfalls aus dem Stand die Spitze der Hitparade. Die Platte erlangte ausserdem bereits am ersten Verkaufstag "Platin"-Status. [arrow more]


billboard.com: U2 earns its sixth No. 1 on The Billboard 200 this week with "How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb." The Interscope set nearly doubled the band's previous best SoundScan era sales week (1991-present), moving 840,000 U.S. copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

In 2000, the Irish quartet's Grammy-winning "All That You Can't Leave Behind" entered at No. 3 on sales of 428,000 copies; the set has a to-date total of 4.2 million. [arrow more]

The U2 front man even stopped and chatted to some fans who couldn't believe their luck to be in the presence of such a big star with no security or diva-like tendencies.

femalefirst.co.uk: U2 struck up a pioneering new iPod deal with APPLE boss STEVE JOBS because the rockers felt the company "best exemplifies the marriage of technology and pop culture."

The group teamed up with Apple to allow fans who bought a limited edition iPod to check out the new U2 album HOW TO DISMANTLE AN ATOMIC BOMB weeks ahead of it's release - and they even agreed to let Apple marketing men use their new song VERTIGO in a TV ad for free.

Frontman BONO explains, "They (Apple) understand music. They like music. They like the art object. The iPod is probably the greatest pop object since the electric guitar.
