Nine years after U2 contributed the song "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" to the "Batman Forever" soundtrack, the band's guitarist has composed and recorded the theme song to "The Batman," a new animated series that premiered Saturday on the WB network. [

nytimes.com: U2'S next album, due in November, will grapple with two challenges: one musical, one cultural.
On its 2000 album, "All That You Can't Leave Behind," U2 retrenched with the kind of ringing, open-hearted arena rock that had made the band's reputation in the 1980's, deliberately reviving a sound that it had twisted and cloaked for a decade. Over its long career, U2 has made more than one foray away from its youthful anthems, first as it tried to come to terms with rock's American roots and then, in the 1990's, as it layered songs with electronic rhythms and swathed the Edge's guitar in effects and distortion. u2.com: Ok, so the wait is nearly over and the new album is on the way. So what do we know... and what do we not know!
There’s still a lot to be revealed in the coming weeks, but, when you pull it all together, quite a few of the vital statistics are already out there. We figured it might be time to separate some of the facts from some of the wilder flights of virtual imagination and online chatter. Of course, some of these outrageously speculative stories may yet turn out to be bang on the money - others will fade within days into the obscurity of rock'n roll trivia quizzes.
So here’s our top ten checklist to guide you through the jungle of rumour and speculation. [

lsionline.co.uk: Coinciding with the launch of Diana Scrimgeour's new book, U2 Show, a beautifully illustrated history of the legendary Irish band's innovative tour productions, PLASA (in association with Total Production International and the PSA) is presenting an exclusive seminar featuring two of the band's longest-serving touring personnel, at the forthcoming PLASA Show.
Hosted by TPI editor Mark Cunningham, the seminar - Designing for U2 - will feature Willie Williams and Joe O'Herlihy in conversation about their creative and technical involvement with U2, and how advances in technology have been successfully (and ingeniously) applied to deliver the band's constantly evolving performance ethos.

The U2 frontman's shopping cart was brimming with healthy stuff, she says, including soy milk. But sitting right on top was a good old Cup o' Noodles. [
