Carrie Alison, editor of the largest U2 fan website, confirms some fans are furious at the band's decision.

oregonlive.com: Irish musician Bono began his appearance Wednesday night at the Rose Garden with a surprise announcement that could make music news around the world. He said two women returned notes and lyrics that were stolen from him 23 years ago when U2 played a Portland club called The Foghorn.

The lyrics were for U2's second album, "October," which came out belatedly because of the theft. Bono called the returned notes "an act of grace."

A single copy of the album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, one of three in existence, is on a global tour for preview sessions.

The special collector’s edition of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb will be released alongside the regular CD on November 23 and will feature the album itself, a DVD with studio footage of the band, and four acoustic tracks, all wrapped up in a 48-page hardcover book.
